Inga Ellzey, President/CEO of the Inga Ellzey Practice Group, Inc. in Casselberry, Florida, is the nation’s foremost expert on dermatology coding, documentation, and reimbursement. She has over twenty-nine years of experience in the field of dermatology, sixteen of which were spent working with a private practicing dermatologist. Inga is also the CEO and founder of several national dermatology-specific billing services. Her educational background includes a Master’s Degree in Public Administration, a Bachelor’s Degree in Medical Record Administration and national certification as a Registered Health Information Administrator.
Inga lectured for major pharmaceutical and medical software companies for the past twelve years and has spoken to over 5000 dermatologists and 8000 staff in forty-eight states. For over si years, in addition to her national lectures circuit, Inga was invited to speak at the annual American Academy of Dermatology meetings.
For the past fourteen years, Inga Ellzey has published i.e., a bimonthly newsletter dedicated to dermatology coding and reimbursement. Currently over 3000 dermatologists nationwide subscribe to this publication. In addition to her own newsletter, Inga has been a contributing author to Dermatology Times, Skin & Aging News, Stethoscope, Digest, and The Central Florida Physician.
In 1997, Inga formed the Inga Ellzey Dermatology Institute and developed the Dermatology Coding Correspondence Course, a nationally recognized training program to certify physicians and their staff as Certified Dermatology Coders (CDC). This four to six month long program certifies students in all aspects of dermatology CPT® coding. Certification is good for two years and students who complete this course are elgible for 30 Continuing Education Credits (CEUs).
Inga is also the writer and publisher of several major books on dermatology coding and reimbursement. The Complete Coder Office Suite, first published in 1995, was endorsed by the American Academy of Dermatology and distributed by Glaxo Dermatology to 5,000 dermatologists nationwide. To complete her dermatology reference series, Inga has also written and published, the Complete Medicare Handbook. Her Model Dermatology Compliance Program was adopted and distributed by the American Academy of Dermatology in 1999, and republished in 2003.
